Today marks the beginning of my entrepreneurship journey, and from this point forward I will be cataloging my thoughts and feelings and hopefully my inspiration as I gain insight in my studies. A few things that I’ve learned so far that have really struck a chord within me… You have to dream big as an entreprenuer. You must never give up.. big ideas come and the smartest business minded individuals take those ideas and grow them. You have to be able to accept defeat, and understand that sometimes success is fleeting and things don’t always work out. However, you just have to keep on going, and understand that success is just a numbers game. Eventually, statistically, you WILL succeed. Many of the most successful business owners and free thinkers have touted 10-20 failed business ventures. Those kind of odds don’t seem like the kind of thing easily reconciled, but then again… if you want to succeed, you can’t give up. Ever. I also learned that you have to avoid the path of least resistance if you want to challenge yourself to grow into your potential. This reminds me of a favorite quote that i like to remember that goes something like, “The pathway to your greatest potential is straight through your greatest fear”. I was able to draw a few parallels here. It would seem that true success probably comes through failure, and conquering fears. Someone also said, ” Nothing good ever came easy”, and I think that is so appro- po. If you are uncomfortable, you are probably on your way to growth and progress. If you are comfortable, something should tell you that you need to challenge yourself or you run the risk of becoming complacent, lazy, and you could even get stuck in a rut creatively or otherwise. Successful people know that you need to continually stimulate yourself, or you lose the progress you’ve made.
